This question is for anyone with an ileostomy.
Has anyone had the capsule camera endoscopy?
I am scheduled for it but am a bit afraid to go through with it.
I've heard some positive about it, but then also some negative.
Several years ago, I had a watermellon seed stop up my stoma, yes it sure did. I was lucky, I finally got it to 'pop' on through later without having to go to the hospital or have surgery.
I have checked on the internet for info. and read that if you have scar tissue, adhesions, lots of bowel surgeries or a history of obstructions or blockages that there was a danger of an obstruction. Well,,,, I have had 5 obstructions over the years and one partial blockage. So,,,,, there is where it gets scary. Also the camera is 1 1/8 X 3/8 so it's pretty large! I would appreciate any information.
